Need help with pricing

I have a chance to pick up a colt SP1 with colt 3x20 scope, m-9 bayonet, 20 30-round mags, military cleaning kit.

What do you guys think this would be worth?

Igor, what's the asking price? Have you shot it? How bad do you want it and think you have to have it? Answer those to yourself and then decide. Price is relative........

Well, here is the deal. The guy wants $1200 for the whole setup, and there is a gunshow here in town this weekend. I am wondering what its worth, and if its a lot more than $1200, then I might pick it up and unload it at the gunshow. I am figuring that 20 mags are probably worth $200, and the scope is worth $250. I guess its probably a good deal since that would mean that I only need to get $750 on the rifle to break even.

Yes, if everything is in good shape and works right, that doesn't sound bad. Never forget, private sales are almost always the way to go if you know what you're doing, that's the key, don't get burned. I usually ask up front why they are selling. If they need money, than the deal is probably good.

"Let the buyer beware!"

I have seen clean SP-1s retailing for $1200 easy...with NO extras. If the scope is the original Japanese contract (not Chinese knock-off) it should be worth $200-300 (they sold for almost $400 new). Mags are worth at least $10 apiece ($20-$25 if original Colt manufacture).

Soooo...if all this is in excellent condition, I would say $1200 is a great buy.

By the way, lots of guys prefer the 1:12 twist barrels in 5.56 Nato.
